The book and altered milkweed pod both fit into a handmade matchbox drawer. The book is a multi-panel accordion with stitched words on each page, made of layers of japanese paper to feel like feathers on the back and a found bird painting paper on the front side. The pod has been modified to open like a book with lace pages and a small copper bird sculpture tucked in between the sheets.

This one of a kind book and box set was created using my own and purchased handmade paper, found collage, linen thread, natural milkweed pod, handmade paper lace, and copper wire.
