It's a pleasure to use books for sketches, writing and artistic endeavors that suits your materials. In this class we will talk about the qualities papers have and what papers work for various artistic mediums. We will create a landscape hardcover multi-section book that is easy and yet multipurpose. The book will have roughly 40 pages of medium weight paper and the covers will be using bookcloth and decorative paper. Along the way we'll cover all the basics of bookmaking: fiber grain, working with adhesives, how to choose the right materials and tools and lots of tips for working at home. Each student will make a 5x10 landscape style book.
