Offered for the first time at Art Camp, this class will be a creative introduction to bookbinding. Students will have the chance to learn the basics of making books in a fun and unusual setting. Over the course of the week we will be learning several unique structures that are combinations of traditional techniques and structures but allow for each book to blossom into a unique artist book if the students wishes to pursue it. The book structures we will be creating are the Caterpillar Stitch with a wrap around spine, a Coptic with decorated covers, and a French link-stitch bound on leather tapes with milk painted wooden covers. Complete beginners are welcome. Materials fee will be $30 for each student.
