Description:
Small boxes can hold big wonders—perfect for safeguarding artist book creations, treasures, and field findings. This one-day workshop is a great introduction to the versatility of boxmaking and building a tray and an enclosure—a drawer box style matchbox—to house it. Together, these elements form a beautiful and functional set, full of creative potential.

This workshop is welcome to all levels and will explore the principles of multi-component box construction and discover how these techniques apply to other practical box forms students can create at home. From the more intermediate student, the interior tray can include a divided compartment, allowing each set to become a one-of-a-kind treasure.

This course requires basic bookbinding experience, including knowledge of gluing, measuring, and cutting. This foundation allows students to focus on the creative aspects of binding and boxmaking, ensuring a fulfilling and enriching workshop experience.
