Workshop Description:

Don’t get cornered into only square boxes… Boxes come in all shapes and sizes, with lids, compartments, and drawers. Artist books and bound treasures often need creative ways to house them, and here’s the class to learn how to build them. This daylong workshop gives us the time to explore the math, materials, and tips for creating three types of boxes: circular, drawer, and containers with lids. 
As we are creating these shapes in bookboard and sculptural materials, we will also discuss dividers and ways to expand and innovate from the basics. Students with some bookmaking, measuring and possibly box-making experience are recommended.
