Most commonly the way I structure a private lessons is:
- Lessons can be based on a course or on a specific binding, letterpress or papermaking topic
- Lessons can be in-person or on zoom
- Lessons are 3-4 hours and cover roughly the same content as a 1-day course (bookbinding level course1, 2, 3 or longstitch, caterpillar stitch, boxmaking) in that time frame.
- Lessons for one person or a small group and include basic materials but not special decorative papers or cloth (because most people want to customize them
- Lessons are booked by email and there is a $50 deposit the first time by venmo if I've never worked with you before
- I am located in NE part of Portland and can travel for group lessons
- Content is booked ahead of time with basic goals (learning trajectory) or exhibition submission dates so that we can work towards a common goal for you
- Most private lessons are ongoing every month or quarter depending on people's budgets and intentions
The lessons can also be held online and for design/print production tutorials as well, but this is less common and often slightly slower than in person.
Please inquire if you have ideas or topics you'd like to explore. I'm open.
